Retreats

We are glad that you will be joining us for our annual Drum 'N' Dance Retreat. Check-in time is between 5 and 6 PM on Friday, September 21. If you arrive later, we can check you in at that time. Everyone will be asked to sign up for a work shift at check-in and sign a medical release form (a new requirement for insurance at the camp). If you would like to come earlier, let us know. We could use help setting up the camp to make it a comfy and pleasing environment. If you arrive after 8 PM, it will be too late for dinner so plan accordingly.
Here is a list of things that you may want to bring to make your stay more comfortable. You can either bring a tent or stay in the communal cabin. There are bunk beds with mattresses. There is no heat or electricity in the rustic cabins, so bring warm clothing and blankets. During the day, it may be quite hot and then it cools down at night.

Sleeping bag and/or bedding
Pillow (and your binky)
Flashlight or battery operated lantern. No candles please!
Bathing suit or birthday suit (The pool is clothing optional)
Towel and toiletries
Water bottle
Cup for coffee/tea and drinks (to help the environment)
Snax to scarf or share
Drums, thrones, percussion instruments
Pillow or backjack for meditation
Something for the Altar

After the opening circle on Friday night, Steve Walters will perform for us and we will sing along with him. We will dance and sing around the fire too. Saturday night we will be having our Annual Expression Session. Take this opportunity to express yourself in a safe and supportive environment. Feel free to recite a poem, dance a dance, sing a song, play an instrument, tell a story, or get outrageous! There will be a sign-up list at the camp. This has become a popular event so keep your expression to a few minutes - a little longer if you are in a group. Francine Joy will be facilitating a singing group during the drumming groups classes. Please carpool as there is limited parking.

We are looking forward to another joyful event! See you there!
